Centre Activities

  • We have a full programme of one day courses from "Starting a Beef Herd" to  "Direct Meat        Marketing" to "Diversification: Growing Herbs and Salad Crops". We  also run a programme of butchery, sausage making, bacon curing and food smoking courses.  Training courses are designed in response to need so tell us what your training needs are. We can also arrange for you to meet and shadow 'expert' farmers or visit demonstration farms and enterprises.  Look out for training events posted on the Netherfield Centre website.
  •  Farmers, growers and landowners can receive an advisory farm visit or contact the Netherfield         Centre for telephone or e-mail advice and mentoring.  We can also signpost you to other farming or environmental advisors and experts in the area. Our Producer Networking and Marketing Hub is linking producers with retail outlets  such as butchers, farm shops and restaurants who are looking to source local produce and to network farm businesses to ensure continuity of supply of produce and to share information and experiences.
