About Common Cause Co-operative

Common Cause is a not-for-profit social enterprise supporting the local community.  We do this primarily through food growing projects and by supporting the local food growing economy in Sussex.

Common Cause initiated and runs the Lewes Farmers' Market, which was the second Farmers' market in the UK.  Our exciting new Lottery funded project 'Flourish' brings food growing and outdoor growing therapy to people with learning difficulties and mental challenges.  Taking place at two of our project sites, the Lewes Community Allotment, and Ringer Community Orchard, and in partnership with Baulcombes Barn Care Farm, Flourish provides a rich environment for learning, wellbeing and employment skills.

Common Cause was set up in 1991. Read about our past projects here.
